Violet Pan A native of Beijing, China, Ms. Pan earned a position in the Central Opera house at fifteen years old, becoming the concert mistress only a few years later. Violet is a graduate of Beijing Conservatory and student of Wang Huae-Yi, Concertmaster of the Central Philharmonic in Beijing. Upon moving to America, she applied and was accepted to San Francisco Conservatory, but ended up going to the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. She has a full time studio in Charlotte, NC with students holding concertmaster and principal positions in the Charlotte Youth Orchestras, North Carolina Western Regional Orchestra, and the North and South Carolina All-State Orchestras.
Previous students have attended Indiana Summer String Academy, Meadowmount, Interlochen, and have won awards in state and local competitions, including but not limited to the Bales Violin Competition, Hilton Head Concerto Competition, and the Charleston Young Artists Competition.
Violet has a tremendous commitment to student learning. She believes that nothing takes the place of hard work. Patience, student commitment, parent support, and detailed, consistent instruction over time make accomplishment on the violin a source of personal joy and a lesson for life. Ms. Pan, as her students fondly know her, is known by all for her constant reminder “Look on the bright side!”
