Kimberly J. Raybon, D.Min.
Professor of Biblical Study
Kimberly Raybon, originally from Milwaukee, WI, lives in Charlotte, NC. She is a wife of 23 years, a mother of three, as well as a minister, teacher, and writer. Aside from being a devoted wife and mother to her three children, Kimberly’s greatest passion in life is teaching and she has done so for over 20 years in the church in various roles as an adult Sunday School teacher, Life Enrichment department administrator, and most recently as the ministry leader over the Spiritual Formation department at her church. It was through writing the Sunday school lesson plans for her church that she discovered that she also had a love and a gift to write. Kimberly, therefore, pursued other writing opportunities and has been writing various sections of the adult Sunday school curriculum, YOU, since the summer of 2015, for Lifeway Christian Publishing.
Kimberly believes that it is God’s great joy and desire that we as Christians actively resist being conformed to this world and seek instead to be transformed by the renewing of our mind with the Holy Word of God. Transformation goes far beyond surface level intellectual knowing but also includes a person’s core belief patterns that shape our actions and responses in the world. Therefore, any approach to real transformation must go beyond simply grasping information at the soulish level to intentional application made possible only through the spiritual strength God offers us through the inner working power of the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Raybon holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Kentucky State University; Master’s degrees in Health Studies, Accounting/Accounting Information Systems, and Ministry from the University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa, Strayer University, and Luther Rice College and Seminary, respectively; and a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation from Liberty University.
