Biblical Studies

Department of Biblical Studies

This program prepares students for ministry in a local church, mission field, or other Christian ministries, by developing a Christian character, a sound knowledge of the English Bible, and the skills required for their chosen Christ-centered profession.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate student will be able to:

  1. Express a general knowledge of the books of the Bible, including key individuals, major events, and historical settings.
  2. Articulate a synthesis of every major category of systematic theology
  3. Exegete and apply Scripture using inductive methods and principles of literal-grammatical-historical principles of interpretation.
  4. Communicate biblical truth clearly and effectively and make an application to everyday living.
  5. Relate effectively as a servant-leader in a local church or para-church setting.
  6. Understand and articulate the grace principles of progressive sanctification in a life of ministry.

Duration

Students of this program complete 120 credits of instruction.

Delivery Method

Classes are delivered on the ground at the university facilities.

1) Student may take other electives courses from another major and use those credits towards his graduation.

2) A student will receive Church Education Teacher Certification upon completing a total of 30 credits (from Church Education Curriculum).

3) A student will receive TESOL Teacher Certification upon completing a total of 30 credits (from Church Education Curriculum).

4) A student will receive Christian Counseling Certification upon completing a total of 18 credits (from Christian Counseling Curriculum) and 15 credits (from Christian Education Curriculum and Biblical Studies Curriculum).
